why i h8 social media and why i deleted it
hello ! my first blog post 4 sure.
in this past year plus, i have deleted a majority of my social medias. which would include: instagram, tiktok, threads, facebook, and, reddit. a LOT of people i know are unable to do this, or just refuse to. i 110% understand and truly get it. i was exactly like that, in love with my apps.
being on social media, instagram and tik tok specifically for me, would make me mad, annoyed, frustrated, and SO bored. i would spend so much time just doomscrolling on instagram reels and just plain arguing with stupid ass people in comment sections. (yeah i was one of those losersLMFAO). so for me all my interactions were always so negative and were quick to make me mad. and of course thats just a problem of my own, and i do all in my power currently to just not argue with ppl online LOL, and in all honestly real life too LMFAO. i hated that being all that i do online, so i got rid of those apps. it very much has worked for me, cant argue if im not on the app
and while everything ive said above is a pretty main reason id say its pretty much 50% of why i deleted social media. id like to talk about the other half now.
being online and posting to instagram and tiktok i would try very hard to "do it right". i was really into it and would spend a lot of time thinking and planning on posts, even if it was something small or simple i was just super enthralled with doing it. and in all eagerness to be apart of something, i was not very careful. nothing truly direct has happened or life changing, but i noticed how careless and unsafe i was being online, in the sense of privacy for myself. so much of my online presence was all connected with one another, and just the combination of it all was just a lot of personal information i am not okay with having as an online footprint. a lot of stupid, pointless nothingness just stuck to my name and identity. so this pushed me more to get rid of all these apps. i only really write this so people ideally have a chance to assess their own online presence and what is just general information for a person to find, think about your future too. just be careful is all i wish of everyone ⋆˙⟡
